Governance

ALG is incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It is governed by two entities that work closely with the pre-school’s director:

  • The Executive Board of Directors supports the vision of the school and ensures its longevity.
  • The parent-led Steering Committee focuses on supporting the director and the needs of the school.

The president of the Steering Committee and the School Director both are members of the Executive Board.

All meetings of the Executive Board and Steering Committee are open to the ALG community.

The Board of Directors (Executive Board) includes up to 11 members who serve terms of at least two years, one of whom is the Steering Committee president. The board meets three times peryear. The Board’s principle responsibilities are to support the staff and director, evaluate and approve ALG’s annual budget and review overall school policies. The board’s tri-annual meetings focus on long term strategic and budget issues.
