Amazing Life Games Preschool admits a full class of children each September. While there are occasional openings throughout the year, ALG generally uses its waitlist to fill mid-year openings. Eligible children must be 2.5 years by September of the year they plan to matriculate at ALG.

Applications

If you think ALG would be a good match for your child, please fill out and submit an Admissions Application to the school. There is a one-time, non-refundable fee of $50 for all interested children, payable by check to ALG. Applications are due by February 1st for admission the following fall. Fall admission decisions begin in early February and continue as space permits.

* All families pay a $500 membership fee annually, which covers the cost of field trips, classroom and cleaning supplies, and an ALG t-shirt.

Scholarships

ALG believes that all children should have access to a high quality pre-school experience. ALG has a limited scholarship fund for families needing financial assistance. Scholarship funds are raised annually by school fundraisers, so the amount available varies year to year based on the funds raised, but is generally between $10,000-$15,000 per year.

 

Families may request scholarships in their application. Amounts vary depending on the need of the family and the number of families requesting scholarships, although since we are a cooperative, we require all families pay some portion of tuition and to coop at the school. Summer camp eligibility for scholarships is only open to students who attend ALG during the school year, and is subject to availability.

 

ALG uses the income eligibility guidelines from the DC Childcare Voucher program and the DC livable wage standards. Interested families must submit their prior year tax return and/or current pay stubs from the past month if there has been a change in income since the previous tax year. Based on this documentation, ALG follows the following guidelines:

  • If your family’s annual income is $36,425 or lower for family of four, you get up to a 75% discount on tuition if you are full coop and 75% discount plus $75 if partial coop.
  • If your family’s annual income is $45,000 for family of four, you get up to a 50% discount on tuition if you are full coop and 50% discount plus $75 if partial coop.
  • If your family’s annual income is $55,000 for family of four, you get up to a 33% discount on tuition if you are full coop and 33% discount plus $75 if partial coop.
